PCCU Executive

Al Meyer:  CEO, is responsible for implementing the corporate strategic direction, mission, and values, along with overseeing the overall credit union operations.  Al provides leadership within Prairie Centre, the credit union system and Prairie Centre communities through corporate and community involvement.  Since starting wtih the credit union system 31 years ago, Al has held a number of managerial positions both in Saskatchewan and Alberta.  He has been with Prairie Centre since 1993.

Presently Al sits as the First Vice President on the SaskCentral Board of Directors.  Until recently, Al was also on the Board of Directors for the Rosetown Golf and Country Club and the Rosetown Minor Athletic Association.

 

Tim Askin:  VP Retail, is responsible for managing the business activities of all eleven retail service centres as well as managing Advisory services which includes Financial Specialists, Trust Services, Credential Securities and Credential Financial Strategies.  He also oversees the development of the credit union's marketing strategy and identifying potential markets, ensuring that products are filtered into public relations efforts and are accurately reflected in all corporate messaging.  Tim has over 24 years of experience in various credit unions in the system.  He is nearing completion of his studies at Queens Business College in Kingston, Ontario.  Upon completion, Tim will have his Excecutive Certificate in Applied Leadership. 

Tim is a past member of the Provincial CEAMS Techonology , as well as a past member of the National Canadian Business Owner Strategy Committee.  Locally, Tim is the Deputy Mayor of Rosetown and is involved with West Central Justice, and the Civic Centre Board of Directors.  He also has a youth and adult Mediation license, working on a contract basis for Sask Justice. 

 

Brad Appel:  VP Credit, is responsible for the leadership and strategic execution of PCCU's credit management, underwriting standards, loan quality and overall credit administration.  With more than 15 years of experience with Prairie Centre, Brad has held a number of progressively responsible positions.  Brad holds a Business Administration - Management Diploma, and a Fellows (FCUIC) and an Associate (ACUIC) designation with the Credit Union Institute of Canada with a Specialty in Lending.

Currently Brad serves on the board of the Rosetown Fitness Centre and is active in coaching softball and high school volleyball.  He also sits on the Agriculture Committee for SaskCentral.

 

 

Colleen Harmatiuk:  VP Corporate Services, is responsible for overseeing and providing technology strategy, maintaining efficient centralized deposit support functions, overseeing compliance and management of the risk for the credit union.  This includes researching and implementing best practices, reviewing and maintaining prudent process for the Enterprise Risk Management, Business Continuity, Privacy, Anti-Money Laundering, Market Code and other areas of credit union compliance.  Colleen has 19 years of experience in various credit unions in the system.

Currently Colleen is a member of the Rosetown Fitness Centre.  In the past, Colleen has served on a number of credit union focus groups, boards and committees.  She has volunteered with various community organizations including local Chamber of Commerce, youth and sports focused clubs as well as numerous community fundraising events.

 

Lesley Carlson:  VP Finance, is responsible for monitoring the overall financial performance of the credit union, overseeing the operations of the Finance Division.  This includes financial forecasting, corporate investments, and managing liquidity and capital of the credit union.  Lesley also manages the fixed assets of the company including all buildings and equipment.  Lesley has over 26 years of credit union experience in a variety of positions - frontline, marketing, deposits, wealth management and now finance.  Lesley earned the Certified Financial Planners designation in 2005, completed the ACUIC Designation with honors and has a Diploma in Management Studies. 

In the community, Lesley has volunteered with various sports teams, events and served on various local boards.  Currently, Lesley is the chair of the RCHS School Community Council, an active member of Beta Sigma Phi, the United Church Mission & Outreach committee and sings in the United Church Choir.
