Business Credit Availability Program (BCAP)

Business Credit Availability Program

Prairie Centre Credit Union is partnering with Export Development Canada (EDC) on a new program to help you access the financing you need to address payroll, rent, and other short-term operating costs during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The EDC Business Credit Availability Program (BCAP) Guarantee helps Canadian companies like yours access up to $6.25 million in credit. Proceeds from your loan must be used to finance operations and cannot be used to repay or refinance existing debt.  EDC will provide a guarantee to our institution on 80% of the value of your loan. By sharing risk with EDC, we can help your company access the financing it needs.

What can I use the BCAP proceeds for?

Proceeds from your loan must be used to finance operations and can be used to make normally scheduled interest and principal payments, as well as ordinary-course debt payments. Proceeds from the BCAP loan cannot be used to refinance existing debt.

Who can apply?

If your business needs access to working capital to cover operational costs as a result of COVID-19, you may be eligible for the EDC BCAP Guarantee. This guarantee is for new term loans to support your cash flow needs during the pandemic.

How do I apply?

Decision-making on BCAP-supported loans has been delegated to our institution by EDC, so Prairie Centre Credit Union will work with your company to determine whether this solution is a good fit for your business.  Please contact your local branch to discuss further.
